So it begins! On Thursday September 18, Ex Fabula held its Season Six Kickoff Fundraiser at Hot Water Wherehouse. Attendees were treated to tunes, delicious food from local sponsors, a quietly competitive silent auction and classic tales from Ex Fabula past.
Emcee Leah Delaney kept the crowd delighted, sharing theme based UltraShorts submitted by guests prior to introducing the evening’s storytellers. Leah Leone kicked off the evening by revisiting some Second Thoughts regarding a past relationship & self worth, while Lamont Smith’s Barbershop tale sparked memories of hairstyles, family & Donald Duck. After a brief intermission, Tracy Lehrmann once again stunned the crowd with her classic, mind blowing tale about Faking It. It’s so good that we STILL can’t bear to give you any spoilers! Jody Hirsh closed out the evening; retelling his tale of discovering his sexuality in less tolerable times, reassuring us that It (indeed) gets better.
It was a wonderful evening! Many thanks and much appreciation to the storytellers for once again coming out and sharing their personal stories. Congratulations to the winners of the silent auction! Thanks to the Hot Water Wherehouse & its friendly staff. Thanks to our guests, members and volunteers for their continued support and contributions!
