Ex Fabula StorySlams are live events where community members connect and share true, personal stories related to the night’s theme, told without props or notes. Come just to listen – or throw your name in the hat for a chance to share a true story related to the theme ‘Left No Crumbs’ – Stories of food, cultural delicacies, cooking disasters, mouth-watering meals, and tradition!

At the end of the night, the audience votes by secret ballot to choose an Audience Favorite and our secret judges will select a Judges Favorite! There will be opportunities for youth to be a paid storyteller or volunteer, with extra cash prizes for the Audience Favorite and Judges Favorite.

The audience can also be a part of the storytelling by submitting UltraShorts! These are “ultra-short” stories on the night’s theme that will be read onstage by the emcee.

This event is free, but space is limited, so use the “Add To Cart” button below to reserve your spot. There will be opportunities for youth to be a paid storyteller or volunteer, with extra cash prizes for Audience Favorite and Judges Favorite! Use this Google Form to sign up to be a storyteller and/or a volunteer.

Attendees need to RSVP, even if you have filled out the form to participate as a volunteer or storyteller.

Want to practice your story before the slam? Join us for one of  two free Teen Slam workshops April 27th (in person) or May 5th (virtual) from 12pm-1pm.
